Frequently Asked Questions

When will membership be available for purchase?

  • Membership is available to the public every year starting in March.
  • Membership purchase is available only for the current season.

I have registered and paid for my membership, can I golf right away?

  • The golf facilities need to be open for the season.
  • Please do not attempt to golf or book a tee time for at least 48 hours post the membership confirmation email.   This will allow appropriate time for activation by the City of Edmonton.
  • Occasionally the CoE will experience computer/internet situations which will slow down the process.
  • Work Around:  Call the golf course the member wishes to book a tee time at and let them know a RVJG membership has been purchased.  The golf course can record the round manually, which will then be updated to the computer system later.  If any golf course has a booking issue with this, they can check the manual /paper membership sheets they are given, where it records the junior information and membership level.
  • The membership year is April 1 to March 31.

Payment for the membership

  • An invoice will be generated for the selected membership upon registration.  The membership fee must be paid at once in full when invoiced.  The automated payment method is through PayPal.
  • E-transfer can be arranged but only in certain situations, which requires the invoice number created upon registration to complete the process.
  • If payment is not received for the invoiced amount within 48-hours the system will void the invoice.  The selected membership will then be available for public purchase.

What are the age restrictions?

  • The contract that RVJG has with the City of Edmonton restricts adults, 18 years of age and older from participating. Individuals who are eighteen (18) need CoE approval and to have been a member of RVJG for the prior two (2) years, to be considered.

If an adult is registered for membership what happens?

  • During the membership application review process the member will be recorded as over age, the registration for membership will be canceled and a refund of the application for membership payment will be processed.

How many memberships can I buy?

  • Each junior must have a unique email address.  Multiple memberships for a junior can be bought.  For example two limited memberships so twice as many rounds of golf can be played.

I have multiple children to register, can I register and pay for them all at once?

  • No.  It is a limitation of the automated registration system.  Each junior must be registered individually with a unique email address.  Payment for each junior must be made separately.
  • Where applicable or for convenience, consider forwarding the junior email to a guardian email.

How do I book a tee time?

  • Please see our Bookings page for information on booking a tee time.
  • NOTE: If you book your tee time with 311 and cancel your booking with less than 24 hours notice or if you do not show up for your scheduled tee time, City of Edmonton will charge you a $10.00 per person administration fee.

What types of membership are available and the price?

  • We offer six levels of memberships.  See our Fees page for a detailed list for each membership level.

(i) Full Access Junior (3 courses); (ii) Full Access Junior - Rundle Only

(iii) Limited Junior (3 courses); (iv) Limited Junior - Rundle Only

(v) Junior Plus Adult (3 courses); (vi) Junior Plus Adult - Rundle Only

Can I upgrade my membership during the year?

  • Yes.  Log into the RVJG website; select your profile information; under membership level select 'Change'.  Select the new membership level and you will be stepped through the process.
  • Upgrading is a two step process:  (1) selecting the new membership level to be initiated, then (2) payment.
  • Due to limitations of the automated processing system, it can only process the full amount of the membership, so manual administrator intervention is required.
  • The first email will be 'Membership Level Change Initiated' and indicate how to proceed.
    1. Faster option.  Members can pay the full price invoice of the membership level, then request a refund of the previous membership level invoice; or
    2. Slower option.  Prior to paying the full price invoice of the level change Members can request the invoice to be manually adjusted to the cost difference of the level change;

Either way, you only pay the difference between the membership prices.

If I join in the middle of the golf season, will my membership be prorated?

  • Membership is not prorated.

As an Full Access Member, how many tee times may I book/ play in a day?

  • Play is unlimited.

Who do I contact regarding billing issues?
